About Aide
Better prepared. Still accountable.
Every councillor deserves to walk into the chamber fully prepared. Every community deserves a representative who is.
The governance gap
You were elected to represent your community. Then reality hit: hundreds of agenda pages, dense financial appendixes, complex officer assumptions, and binding votes cast under immense time pressure.
Most councillors are part-time public servants working alongside full-time council staff. You don't lack dedication — you lack hours in the week. Aide bridges that gap.
Your personal forensic analyst
Aide is a dispassionate AI analyst built specifically for local government. It reads enormous agenda packs at light speed, ignores administrative fluff, and delivers a forensic brief in seconds — backed by exact page citations.
What's on track
Verified progress on major deliverables — filtering out routine updates to focus strictly on key decisions.
What's at risk
Hidden cost overruns, unbudgeted liabilities, tight deadlines, and financial exposures buried in appendixes.
What's unmeasured
Real structural gaps — missing baselines, expenditures without success criteria, and unquantified risks.
Questions to ask
Targeted, evidence-backed questions you can ask in the chamber to constructively test assumptions.
What you're endorsing
A plain-English summary of what a “Yes” vote actually commits the council to in practice.
Built for sound governance
Aide never tells you how to vote, doesn't give legal advice, and holds no political agenda. It simply equips you with clear, cited evidence to sharpen your oversight. Your community knowledge, personal judgment, and vote remain entirely yours. Read more on Aide’s standpoint.
Why we built Aide
Aide started around a kitchen table on a Sunday evening.
A local councillor was staring down a 350-page agenda pack for a Tuesday morning vote. They were dedicated to doing right by their community, but between a full-time job, family life, and council commitments, digesting hundreds of pages of technical reports was an impossible standard.
We built Aide to give elected members the analytical leverage they need to balance the scales — so you can cut through the clutter, ask the right questions, and walk into every meeting prepared.
