Aide is operated by PARALLAX ("Aide", "we", "us"). This policy details how we handle data across our marketing site (aide.nz) and application (app.aide.nz) under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Data we collect

Visitors (aide.nz): Optional aggregated traffic data (page views, traffic sources). Opt out via the site cookie banner.

Product users (app.aide.nz): Email, name, and essential product usage data (feature activity, errors, session logs) required to operate, secure, and bill for the service. App usage logging is a condition of service.

2. Council documents & public records

Submitted council documents are processed on a process-and-purge basis to generate briefs. Public record information (names and titles of officials, staff, or public submitters) is retained so briefs remain accurate and cited. Incidental personal data (e.g., private addresses or phone numbers) is scrubbed prior to AI processing. Processed documents are purged immediately after brief generation.

3. Overseas sub-processors (IPP 12)

We disclose data to the following overseas service providers (primarily US-based) operating under privacy standards comparable to the NZ Privacy Act 2020:

• AI Gateway: Managed frontier model processing (zero-retention).
• Resend: Transactional email and sign-in links.
• PostHog: Application and site analytics.
• Stripe: Subscription billing.

4. Cookie summary

• Session cookie (essential): Scoped on app.aide.nz to maintain sign-in.
• Consent cookie: Shared on aide.nz to store marketing cookie choices for 12 months.
• Analytics cookies: Placed by PostHog on aide.nz only when marketing consent is granted.

5. Security, rights & contact

We protect accounts via single-use magic links. You retain the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your account, briefs, and personal data at any time.
